Big 12 Championship football tickets are treasured items for college football fans looking for action. The Big 12 Championship annually features some of the best teams in the nation and is a showcase for college football superstars headed to the next level. 2012 is no different, but there may be some surprises along the way for fans with 2012 Big 12 Championship tickets.
The Big 12 Conference has become something of a quarterback factory recently, producing two Heisman Trophy winners at the position in the last five years. Eric Crouch of Nebraska picked up the Heisman in 2001 for his work in Nebraska and Jason White captured the honor while under center at Oklahoma. Texas quarterback Vince Young would have been almost a shoo-in for a Heisman at Texas had he not chosen to move on to the NFL.
But fans with 2012 Big 12 Championship tickets will be looking at some new heroes under center. The Big 12 will see no less than six, and possibly seven new starting quarterbacks hit the field. Texas said goodbye to Vince Young, Missouri's Brad Young is gone, along with Cody Hodges of Texas Tech. Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri will also see new leadership. In the most important position on the field, who'll find the guy to punch their ticket to a Big 12 Championship is the bug question hanging over teams in the Big 12.
In 2005 that guy was Vince Young. The talented Texas quarterback was the point man as the Longhorns bulldozed their way through the Big 12, leading them to victories over 4th ranked Ohio State, 10th ranked Texas Tech, and a 45-12 blowout of rival Oklahoma. Just to cap things off, Young engineered a 70-3 pasting of Colorado in the 2005 Big 12 Championship, throwing for three touchdowns while completing 14 of 17 passes. The 1st Round Draft Choice of the Tennessee Titans ended his college career by scoring the winning touchdown in the Rose Bowl to capture the BCS National Championship for Longhorns fans.
In 2012 Big 12 Championship tickets will answer some questions lingering over the new season. Can Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson stay healthy and make his claim for the Heisman? Can Texas' Mack Brown replace the phenomenal Vince Young and keep the Longhorns on top? Can Iowa State, after four bowl games in five years, claim a spot at the top of the North Division?
