Grammy-winning Tank and the Bangas share a new single and reveal an exciting lineup of tour dates across the U.S. this summer and fall.
Tank and the Bangas, the Grammy-winning New Orleans band, have just released “No Invite,” the second single from their forthcoming album The Last Balloon, arriving May 15 via Verve Forecast. Following the critically acclaimed lead single “Move,” featuring Lucky Daye, this new track continues to showcase their evolving sound. The Last Balloon marks the final installment in their trilogy after Green Balloon (2019) and Red Balloon (2022). Frontwoman Tarriona “Tank” Ball explains, “It’s the end of the balloons; we’re moving into a new space now.”
Produced by longtime collaborator Austin Brown, the album features prominent collaborators like Iman Omari, Tane Runo, Ledisi, and Jelly Joseph. The band is embracing new influences while maintaining the joyful emotion that defines their music. In addition to their studio work, Tank and the Bangas have announced a broad 2024 U.S. tour covering key cities such as New York, Boston, Detroit, Washington, D.C., Cleveland, Charlotte, and many more, with special guests Ariel J on most shows and Trombone Shorty joining select dates.
Since their 2017 NPR Tiny Desk Contest win and their recent Grammy for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album, Tank and the Bangas have built a strong reputation for sold-out performances across the U.S. and at major festivals like Coachella, Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, and Newport Jazz Festival. Their live lineup now includes Ball, Norman Spencer II, along with new members Deven Trusclair, Kenaniah Turner, Rob Kellner, and Etienne Stoufflet.
