Legendary trumpeter Arturo Sandoval celebrates his latest album SANGÚ with an exciting tour across North America and Asia.

At 76, Arturo Sandoval continues to captivate jazz and Latin music fans worldwide with his new album, SANGÚ, released on May 1. The record’s lead single, “Scat,” showcases his signature Afro-Cuban funk infused with dynamic brass layers. Across 12 tracks, the album blends bebop, jazz fusion, Cuban rhythms, and traditional batá influences, reflecting a deeply personal family collaboration with his son Arturo “Tury” Sandoval III and manager daughter-in-law Melody Lisman.

Rooted in Sandoval’s earliest musical heritage from Artemisa, Cuba, SANGÚ reconnects him to the legendary sounds of Irakere, the influential group he co-founded alongside Chucho Valdés and Paquito D’Rivera. Early support from cultural champions Daisuke Oda and Darren Romanelli through Magic House in Tokyo helped bring this project to life.
